The Bruce Espresso
We use Allpress espresso for all our coffee based drinks. Allpress started their journey as a roaster in New Zealand, where Bruce is from and where the Flat White was invented, it's the perfect match.

Daily baked treats ranging from buttery croissants to decadent cinnamon buns, perfect with any brew.
Sunday Run Club

The Little Bruce Story
Who is Bruce? Are you Bruce?
We get asked these questions almost daily.
Bruce is, of course, the coffee drinking Gorilla you'll find on the logo of our coffee shop.
Bruce is not a morning person, but once he has had his flat white, he's ready to take on what the day will bring.
Bruce's origins are somewhat hazy, but legend has it he escaped from a New Zealand Zoo, stowed away on a cargo ship, and landed on English shores in Newhaven. Bruce then made his way down to Portslade via train, a few days late due to consistent rail strikes.
The caretakers of Bruce are Greg & Charlie. They took him in after they spotted an ad Bruce put in the Hovarian seeking accommodation in exchange for a constant supply of flat whites. It turns out Bruce was a qualified barista..who knew?
